PRESS RELEASE

IBM FileNet Document Migration To Oracle 10g Based Archive

Data Strategies Interchange is pleased to announce the successful completion of the document archive migration project. The IBM FileNet Document Migration project was part of a program of technological modernization of the archive of ‘Cedulas Catastrales’ of the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Data Strategies performed the migration of over seven million documents consisting of scanned digital images (TIFF files) from more than three hundred and eighty 12” optical platters (FileNet TranLog platters created on a legacy Unisys InfoImage Folder system) to a new Oracle 10g based archive. All the metadata associated with the documents was also converted.

The IBM FileNet Document migration service was performed on-site using Data Strategies equipment, software, and staff. Its successful completion, in presence of difficult logistical circumstances, is a clear demonstration of the delivery capabilities of Data Strategies.

The proprietary PlatterImage Genie, Contents Genie, and Image Migration Genie software tools, used in the, are the result of a decade long effort by Data Strategies devoted to the development of high-performance and cost-effective processes for large-scale migration of archived data across media technologies, hardware platforms, and software products. DSI Can also perform the migration using its proven Offline Migration process.
