BMC Control-D Extraction

BMC Control-D Extraction

Data Strategies Interchange (DSI) is pleased to announce the successful completion of BMC Control-D Extraction for a Canadian communications and media company operating primarily in the fields of wireless communications, cable television, telephone and Internet.

DSI assisted the client with extracting a large volume of reports that were stored on tapes & DASD from an existing Mainframe Platform and migrated them to a new SharePoint based environment.

DSI worked with the customer to FTP the legacy reports from the Mainframe there by using very minimum mainframe resources. These raw encoded reports were then converted to ASCII files using the windows system. BMC Control-D Extraction involved the extraction of over 5 million documents of Line-data/Text with 1.1 TB of compressed data .

Our document migration process is performed offline without API allowing better performance than online migrations and without hindrance to their daily activities.

Further information about DSI’s document archive migration services can be found here.
