PRESS RELEASE

WinCoins Migration to ASG-ViewDirect

WinCoins Migration to ASG-ViewDirect

February 25, 2016

DataWatchData Strategies Interchange today reported on the successful completion of DataWatch BDS (WinCoins) Migration to ASG-ViewDirect.

The customer, one of the largest American financial services corporations, had been using DataWatch BDS (also known as RMOD, WinCoins, WebCoins, COINSERV, or ESP+Archive) for archiving mainframe generated line data reports related to its operations. The legacy system was hosted on a Sun Solaris server and used a proprietary non-SQL database for storing document metadata.

The WinCoins Migration was performed at the Data Strategies’ secure facility in Houston, TX using its proven off-line document migration platform. The project involved processing from some 400 customer-supplied backup optical platters (UDO2, 60GB each) and 1 TB of magnetic repositories.

Some 200 million reports were extracted and converted to ASCII format, including embedded metadata, to facilitate ingestion into ViewDirect. Report timestamps were made unique by adding increments of 1 second, where needed. Annotations were extracted from the legacy archive and delivered as XML files. The data deliveries were made on BitLocker encrypted USB drives with a cumulative size of 40 TByte.

We enjoyed working in close cooperation with ASG to develop the details of the report data and annotation import specification.

On behalf of all members of the ######## COLD to Mobius project team, I want to thank you for the exceptional service provided by DSI over the last two years. I knew after our first meeting that DSI was the right vendor to perform the conversion. Your knowledge of the Datawatch BDS and ASG Mobius applications as well as DSI’s extensive experience performing conversions for both products led me to that conclusion and that confidence turned out to be well placed. This was a very large, complicated and high-risk project with more twists and turns than I could have ever imagined and one constant throughout was the certainty I had that DSI would meet the challenges presented, offer solutions, and deliver converted data on or ahead of schedule and that was true every time. I really appreciate the personal service we received, your responsiveness to frequent emails and willingness to get on calls with little advanced notice allowed me to address issues in real time and make the progress required to meet management mandated delivery dates. I will highly recommend DSI to any ######## teams requiring data conversion services in the future and I wish you and your team at DSI continued success.
