ASG ViewDirect Migration to IBM CMOD

Data Strategies Interchange today is pleased to announce the successful completion of ASG ViewDirect Migration to IBM Content Manager OnDemand.

The customer, a major Life Insurance Company, had been using ASG ViewDirect for archiving PDF, Line data, CSV, Excel, and XEROX Metacode format. The ViewDirect for Networks – NT archive was hosted on a Windows 2012 Server and used an MSSQL 2012 database.

The client had 4 TB of archived report data stored on the hard disk which had 1.4 million DAF files.

The migration was executed through remote access on customer provided Windows servers. Data Strategies’ proven proprietary off-line document migration platform known as Document Genie was used to extract documents and metadata from ASG ViewDirect. Offline migration is a process where DSI performs the migration optimized for best performance independent of end client’s hardware and without hindrance to their daily activities.

Key Achievements in the project:

• The Original Mobius Database didn’t have accurate information about the report id and report version. So DSI ran a pre-process to get real report ID and report Version from each source DAF File. 
• The preprocess also helped us to identify filetypes for each DAF.
• There were many duplicates and various types of errors that were caught by DSI’s efficient Quality Check.
