Unisys InfoImage Migration

January 20, 2010

Unisys InfoImage MigrationData Strategies Interchange today reported on the successful completion of Unisys InfoImage migration aimed at extracting scanned document images from a legacy archive.

Unisys InfoImage is an Enterprise Content Management (ECM) platform with integrated Business Process Management (BPM/workflow) and Records Management (RM) that is ideally suited for business-critical applications that involve high document volumes arriving as paper, electronic files, digital assets, and internet transactions.

The customer, the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry, had been using InfoImage for its document management needs and wanted to move to an in-house developed environment. The legacy data to be migrated consisted of scanned checks and vouchers and were stored on some sixty-eight optical platters.

The Unisys InfoImage migration was performed using Data Strategies’ proven off-line document migration process and platform. Offline migration is a process where DSI performs the migration optimized for best performance independent of end client’s hardware and without hindrance to their daily activities.

The Unisys InfoImage project involved the extraction of over 6 million documents in a multi-page TIFF format with associated indexing metadata and their delivery in a directory hierarchy specified for the ingestion into the target environment.
