JackRabbit Migration to ImageRight

JackRabbit Migration to Vertafore ImageRight

JackRabbit MigrationData Strategies Interchange today reported on the successful completion of JackRabbit migration to Vertafore ImageRight.

The customer, a major regional insurer had been using an in-house developed document management system, based on Apache JackRabbit, for archiving a variety of content related to its claims operations. The content not only consisted of photos and scanned images, but also included recorded telephone conversations and video files.

Data Strategies worked closely with the customer and Vertafore to define the specification for the delivery of documents and metadata in a format suitable for ingestion into ImageRight, Vertafore’s content management suite for the insurance industry.

The JackRabbit Migration was performed remotely on customer supplied workstations using Data Strategies’ proven off-line document migration platform. The claims documents’ metadata was extracted from the JackRabbit Oracle database repository through a purpose-built Java application. Using our ContentsGenie tool, some 14 million ‘images’ with a combined size of 2.5 TByte were extracted from the Oracle Database as well.

Metadata was delivered in an MS-SQL database with tables on the claims, document, and page (image) level, the latter one with a pointer to the storage location of the extracted image(s).
