IBM FileNet Migration To ViewDirect

Data Strategies Interchange is pleased to announce the successful completion of the document archive migration project. The IBM FileNet migration to  ViewDirect, performed for a leading insurance company, successfully migrated the contents of over twenty-eight million documents (TIFF and EXIF/JFIF images for a total of 3.5 Terabytes). These were extracted and converted to the import format expected by the target application.

The source media (over 700 TranLog optical platters) was processed in Data Strategies Interchange’s secure facility in Houston, Texas using its proven off-line document migration platform. Offline migration is a process where DSI performs the migration optimized for best performance independent of end client’s hardware and without hindrance to their daily activities.

In addition to IBM FileNet Migration To ViewDirect, a newly developed process was used to extract the annotations associated with the archived documents and convert them to XML files. Data Strategies Interchange’s data migration tools also generated the script files needed to automate the ingestion of the converted data into the target system.
