PRESS RELEASE

IBM CMOD Extraction for a major Italian Banking Group

Data Strategies Interchange (DSI) today reported on the successful completion of IBM Content Manager OnDemand (CMOD) Migration. The customer, a major Italian Banking Group, had been using IBM CMOD for managing SCS and AFP spool files as well as PDF documents. The system was running on an IBM Mainframe host, utilizing IBM TS7740 VTL and IBM TS3500 TAPE LIBRARY.

DSI assisted the client and Rocket Software with extracting around 4 TB of data residing on 515 virtual tapes and some on DASD. The project involved transferring virtual tapes off the mainframe and extracting and converting some 11 million documents. DSI successfully decompressed and decoded this data and extracted metadata for ingesting into Rocket Software/Mobius target environment.

The migration was performed using Data Strategies’ proven offline document migration process and platform. This offline methodology without using API allowed better performance than online migrations and without hindrance to customer’s daily activities

This was a global project performed in Italy and the migration process was executed through remote access on customer-provided Windows servers. Because of this, the client could save travel costs and expenses staying within their budget.
