Data Strategies Interchange today is pleased to announce the successful completion of IBM Content Manager iSeries Migration to AWS via Amazon Snowball.
The Client was a long time IBM Content Manager iSeries user and needed to migrate from Content Manager data because their core ECM platform was no longer supported by the vendor. The company decided to migrate their documents along with the associated metadata and annotations to an AWS hosted solution.
Approximately 2.5 TB of data was extracted at DSI’s secure facility in Houston. The majority of the data was TIF and JPG images with annotations. Additionally, the client had Word Documents, MP3 Files, PDF, and various other formats.
Integral to the success of the conversion was the ability to convert IBM Content Manager annotations to a new format and re-scale them for optimized viewing in a hosted solution. DSI successfully converted the IBM Content Manager annotations and met all client specifications.
IBM Content Manager for iSeries Migration was performed using DSI’s proven offline migration approach. Offline migration is a process where DSI performs the migration optimized for best performance independent of end client’s hardware and without hindrance to their daily activities.
AWS Snowball, a secure device designed to transfer large amounts of data into and out of AWS Cloud was used to transport all the converted data to the client.
All the other projects accomplished by DSI can be found here.
