PRESS RELEASE

IBM FileNet to ViewDirect

FileNet Report Manager to ASG ViewDirect

September 01, 2015

Data Strategies Interchange reported on the successful completion of IBM FileNet Report Manager migration to ASG ViewDirect.

The customer, a major Canadian bank, had been using Report Manager (also known as Greenbar) for storing the mainframe reports related to its operations. The legacy system was hosted on a Windows server and used FileNet Image Services for storage on 5.25” optical platters.

Data Strategies worked closely with ASG to define the specification for the delivery of documents, document indexes and annotations in a format suitable for ingestion into ASG’s ViewDirect platform under z/OS.

The IBM FileNet Report Manager Migration was performed using Data Strategies’ proven off-line document migration platform. Offline migration is a process where DSI performs the migration optimized for best performance independent of end client’s hardware and without hindrance to their daily activities. It involved our presence at the customer’s location in Canada for the generation of platter images of over 1000 optical surfaces using four PlatterImage Genie workstations and sixteen stand-alone optical drives. The subsequent extraction of over 15 TByte of ASCII report data and associated metadata was performed via remote access on customer provided Windows servers.
