PRESS RELEASE

CA-View Document Migration to Onbase

CA View Migration to Hyland Onbase for Ohio Based Clinic

October 13, 2017

CA-View MigrationData Strategies Interchange is pleased to announce the successful completion of the CA View Migration process to the Hyland Onbase‘s DIP format hosted under z/OS to staging storage in an open systems environment for the end client.

The CA View version 12.0 archive was hosted on a mainframe under z/OS v1.13 and there are multiple LPARS sharing a single database. The client had 6 TB of archived report data stored on Virtual tapes on an Oracle VSM virtual tape library which had approximately 3 million reports.

The CA-View Migration was performed via remote access on customer provided Windows servers using from Data Strategies’ proven off-line document migration platform. Offline migration is a process where DSI performs the migration optimized for best performance independent of end client’s hardware and without hindrance to their daily activities. DSI used its proprietary Document Genie software to extract documents and metadata from CA-View/SAR. Data extraction and conversion process were executed through remote access and the mainframe was not used other than for raw data export from virtual tape.

The report level metadata was exported by our process and ingested into Hyland’s import processor. Any page-level indexes that were stored in the database were extracted and passed to Hyland.

Further information about DSI’s document archive migration services can be found here.
