SPL Viewstar Migration to IBM FileNet

DSI today reported on the completion of SPL Viewstar migration to IBM FileNet.

The customer, one of the largest UK Banking Groups, had been using SPL Viewstar for archiving loan documents. The legacy system was hosted on a Windows NT server and used an Oracle database for storing document metadata. The data to be migrated consisted of over seven million scanned images in TIFF format stored on 2.6GB optical platters inside an HP SureStore library.

The SPL Viewstar migration service was performed at the customer site. All documents and associated metadata were extracted and converted to a format suitable for ingestion into the target (IBM FileNet) archive. The indexing information was extracted from the legacy archive and delivered as XML files.
