Data Strategies Interchange today reported on the successful completion of an ASG Mobius ViewDirect Migration project from the legacy archive for Networks.
The customer, a large community college, had been using ASG Mobius ViewDirect for archiving TIFF images and line data documents related to its operations. The legacy ViewDirect system was hosted on a Microsoft Windows 2003 server and used some 17 MS-SQL 2000 databases for storing document metadata. The Windows file system was used for archival storage. The migration was performed at our secure location in Houston, TX using DSI’s proven off-line document migration platform. Offline migration is a process where DSI performs the migration optimized for best performance independent of end client’s hardware and without hindrance to their daily activities.
The ASG Mobius ViewDirect Migration involved processing some 80 GB report versions (DAF files) that were sent to us on an encrypted hard disk, 700,000 document files were extracted. Corresponding document metadata (Section Ids and Topic values) were delivered to the customer in an MS-SQL database to be used to populate the target system, which was not defined yet at the time of the document extraction.
