Laserfiche Document Migration

Data Strategies Interchange today reported on the successful completion of  Laserfiche Document Migration to Customer’s internally developed target environment.

The customer, a publicly-traded real estate investment trust, had acquired another company who was using Laserfiche for archiving TIFF, PDF, JPG, PNG, Zip, Microsoft Office, & TXT files.

The offline migration project was to convert the documents from the newly acquired company to a format suitable for ingestion into the Customer’s internally developed Target Environment.

The Legacy Platform consisted of Windows Server 2012 R2, with MS SQL database, on Hyper-V VM. Approximately 1TB of legacy data was shipped to DSI on an encrypted hard drive to perform the migration offline.

The Laserfiche document migration was performed at the Data Strategies’ secure facility in Houston, TX. Data Strategies Interchange’s proven proprietary off-line document migration platform known as Document Genie was used to extract documents and metadata from Laserfiche.

Key Achievements in the project:

Pre-process was required to:

• Extract Metadata information for each document from the Laserfiche MS SQL database tables.
• Build Physical File Path for converted files from logical source file path information by obtaining information from the Laserfiche database tables.
