Data Strategies Interchange today reported on the successful completion of IBM FileNet migration. The project aimed at migrating a legacy FileNet document archive to the customer’s new Imaging System.
IBM FileNet is a content management solution that aids in the creation of business applications on any cloud to administer a content, automatically extract insight from unstructured content, and dissolve content silos.
The customer, the world’s largest manufacturer, seller and distributor of beverages, had been using IBM FileNet Image Services for its document management needs and wanted to move to its Image Vision Express environment. The legacy data to be migrated consisted of scanned documents and were stored on over 220 optical platters.
The IBM FileNet Migration was performed using Data Strategies Interchange’s proven off-line document migration process and platform. Offline migration is a process where DSI performs the migration optimized for best performance independent of end client’s hardware and without hindrance to their daily activities.
The IBM FileNet Migration project involved the extraction of over 7 million documents (TIFF Images) with associated indexing metadata and their conversion to the format specified for the ingestion into the target archive.
