Data Strategies Interchange is pleased to report the successful extraction and recovery of IBM Content Manager for iSeries on an optical disc, written with IBM’s high-performance optical file system (HPOFS) to Hyland’s OnBase.
The customer, an independent oil and gas exploration and production company, was looking to migrate their existing documents and metadata from an IBM Content Manager archive. The extracted document types were TIFF, PDF, JPG, Microsoft Office documents, and more.
The aforementioned documents were stored on IBM optical disc cartridges written with IBM’s (HPOFS) and archived using IBM’s Content Manager for iSeries and were not accessible to the client because of bad media.
The IBM Content Manager iSeries data recovery and extraction were performed at DSI’s secure location in Houston TX, extracting approximately 80 GB of data with more than half a million documents along with associated metadata using DSI’s proprietary tool FileGenie Xlator and DSI’s proven off-line document migration approach.
Performing migrations offline allows Data Strategies Interchange the ability to execute large-scale data migrations and conversions in the shortest time and the most cost-effective way at DSI’s secure facility.
The documents and Index values were delivered in a format suitable for ingestion into Hyland’s OnBase.
