Data Strategies Interchange is pleased to announce the completion of DataWatch WinCoins Migration that involved document extraction and metadata indexing from an archive hosted under the AIX server for CMOD-Windows ingestion.
The end client, a Netherlands based financial company had been using DataWatch WinCoins as well as IBM Content Manager OnDemand as the standard application E-Archiving. Since the company was phasing out on the usage of DataWatch WinCoins, to avoid unnecessary maintenance costs and to keep consistent archiving tools, the client decided to migrate all their documents from COINS archive to IBM On Demand.
The DataWatch WinCoins Migration was performed via remote access on customer provided Windows servers using Data Strategies’ proven off-line document migration platform. Offline migration is a process where DSI performs the migration optimized for best performance independent of end client’s hardware and without hindrance to their daily activities. The project involved extracting documents from magnetic disks to original pre-ingestion format files and associated metadata in generic indexer format.
About 125 GB of PDF repository data and 450 GB of ASCII text repository data were extracted and grouped according to the mapping provided by the client.
