Data Strategies Interchange today reported on successful accomplishment of 2 data migration services, Data Migration to PaperClip32 from (Formerly Captaris) OpenText Alchemy and Canon Canofile legacy document archive systems.
Four utility companies in Pennsylvania were looking to convert their Alchemy document archives to PaperClip32. The Alchemy archives consisted of scanned documents saved as image files. The combined size of the legacy data was approximately fifty Gigabytes. Data Strategies delivered the converted documents on DVD media in a format (TIFF files and ASCII scripts) suitable for use with the AutoImport facility of PaperClip32.
In another instance an electric cooperative in Oklahoma needed to convert its Canofile based document archive to PaperClip32. Data Strategies extracted the image documents and indices from the Canofile optical platters and delivered the converted data on CD media in a format (TIFF files and ASCII scripts) suitable for use with the AutoImport facility of PaperClip32.
The Data Migration to PaperClip32 services were performed in Data Strategies’ secure Houston facility. The proprietary Contents Genie and Image Migration Genie software tools, used in these projects, proved once more their flexibility and efficiency in performing off-line data migrations across media technologies, hardware platforms, and software products. Offline migration is a process where DSI performs the migration optimized for best performance independent of end client’s hardware and without hindrance to their daily activities.
