IBM Content Manager (OS/400) to Hyland Onbase for Major Aerospace Contractor

HOUSTON, TX, May 4, 2016 -- Data Strategies Int’l, Inc. today reported on the completion of a document archive migration project from IBM Content Manager to Hyland Onbase.

The customer, a major aerospace contractor, had been using IBM ContentManager for archiving scanned images related to its operations. The legacy system was hosted on an IBM iSeries server, using a combination of DASD and UDO optical platters for archive storage and the DB2 universal database for storing document metadata.
Data Strategies worked closely with Hyland to define the specification for the delivery of documents, document indexes and document notes in a format suitable for ingestion into the Onbase platform.
At the customer’s location, the optical platters were copied to platter image files, using a DSI PlatterImage Genie workstation. DB2 database tables and the objects stored on DASD were copied to the Windows side. All further processing was done at DSI’s secure location in Houston TX, generating some 500,000 documents with associated metadata in the Onbase Document Import Processor (DIP) format.
